Who I am…

I grew up on a beach in Northern California, but I was born in San Francisco so I call myself a “city girl” who married a Southern gentleman from the Peach State who charmed me away from the bright city lights on the bay and the sandy shores of Northern California to the Deep South. I have now made my home in Georgia with my husband and delightfully curious little boy who inspires my creativity each and every day.

What I have studied…

I attended the University of California at Berkeley and studied art and architecture in Florence, Italy while an undergraduate at UC. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture from UC, I returned to Italy to pursue graduate studies in Cortona with the University of Georgia.

My Master of Fine Arts degree is in interior design from the University of Georgia in Athens. As a graduate assistant at UGA, I taught furniture design, colour and materials, and architectural graphics. Special studies included fabric and furniture design, papermaking, bookbinding, and the history of Twentieth Century photography.

During this time I also began a wholesale art and hand painted home décor business selling my art, photography, and hand painted furnishings to retail businesses throughout the United States and abroad.

My day job…

My interior design work, which began with designer showcase homes and the staging of yachts now includes restaurants; retail spaces; medical, law, and executive offices; continuing care facilities; and conference centers.  My photography includes commercial, portrait, group, fine art work and has been exhibited nationally.  I accept commissions for illustration and photography.

Other stuff I have done…

My art, design, illustration, and photography have been licensed on a wide range of products including home goods, dinnerware, fine art prints, gifts, and stationery. My collection of work is published regularly in national and international magazines. I am a frequent contributor to several of the magazines from Stampington Publications.  My work has also been published in several books.

What else I like to do…

When I am not working in the interior and architectural design field, I stay creative making beautiful and functional art for my Etsy shop and My Front Porch, gardening, painting with my little boy {when we are not playing}, refinishing antiques and vintage pieces, sewing, writing to you, and...
